Sweet Spicy Monkey Boba Tea

Sweet Spicy Monkey Bubble Tea

You’re going to love this Sweet Spicy Monkey Boba Tea! It’s a fun & refreshing ice tea drink made with Adagio Tea’s signature blend, Sweet Spicy Monkey, freshly squeezed orange juice, tapioca pearls, honey, and vanilla.

I’m so happy to be sharing this Sweet Spicy Monkey Boba Tea recipe with y’all. For starters, the tea is my blog’s namesake, Sweet Spicy Monkey. And this recipe is so fun! Not just fun to make, but fun to drink too!

I came across Adagio Teas after searching for my blog on Google (like you have never done such a thing). Don’t be judging.

Anyways, Sweet Spicy Monkey tea popped up during my search. And me being the curious type, I clicked to see what it was all about.

Come to find out, one of Adagio Tea’s customers, a Tabatha Bell, created a blend of tea which she named, Sweet Spicy Monkey.

Sweet Spicy Monkey Bubble Tea

The tea is a blend of rooibos lemon cloud, lemon grass, marigold flowers, white monkey, gunpowder, natural lemon and vanilla flavors with rose hips to create a mildly smoky, spicy, sweet tea.

This is what Adagio calls a signature blend of tea, which they have many of, thanks to their customers.

It’s quite easy to blend them yourself too. Just go to their site, click on the “create a blend” button on the upper right hand of their tab bar, and select from the many teas they sell.

Of course, it probably helps to have some knowledge on the teas you want to blend together. Or you can just pick what you think will sound good together and add an accent, something to add color and a little flavor to your tea, like blueberries, ginger, hibiscus, or lemon verbena, and the many others to choose from.

After creating your blend of teas, you get to design the package and name your tea blend. From start to finish, the tea blend you create has your very own personal touch.

Now I don’t know if Tabatha Bell knows of my blog, but I’m so happy she created this blend of tea and named it Sweet Spicy Monkey.

I love the flavor and the name! So it should come as no surprise that this recipe is called Sweet Spicy Monkey Boba Tea.

Sweet Spicy Monkey Bubble Tea

Sweet Spicy Monkey Boba tea is blended with freshly squeezed orange juice, coconut milk, honey, and tapioca pearls to make this drink refreshingly fun.

Boba tea just makes you feel like a kid again, bringing a smile to your face. It’s so fun to drink!

You might also hear Boba tea called Bubble tea because the large tapioca pearls look like bubbles. So whether you call it Boba tea or Bubble tea, its one of the same.

Now I’ve never added milk to ice tea before, only to my hot chai latte, which is one of my favorite Fall drinks. So adding milk to this Boba tea was a new experience for me, along with the tapioca pearls.

You might find tapioca pearls at your local grocery store or local Asian market. I ordered the large black tapioca pearls from Amazon, where they have a wide selection along with the Boba tea straws.

You will need a larger straw because the black tapioca pearls will not go through a regular straw. Although, the white tapioca pearls I bought at my local supermarket fit through the regular straw.

To make your own Boba tea at home, you will need a fine mesh strainer for the tea and juice, tea, milk, something sweet like honey, Stevia, or sugar, ice, juice, and tapioca pearls.

For this Sweet Spicy Monkey Boba Tea, you’ll find the ingredients below. But once you make it, you’re going to want to try different flavors, so that’s why I gave you the generic list above.

I love the coloring of the black tapioca pearls with the orange drink, it kinda reminds me of Halloween. While the white tapioca pearls in this drink remind me of Fall.

If you get a chance, go check out Adagio Teas. They have a wide assortment of tea and tea blends. Or you can create one of your very own and give it as a gift for the upcoming Holidays.

As always, if you do make these Sweet Spicy Monkey Boba Teas, leave a comment below, or share it with me by tweeting me @sweetspicymonky, or tagging your Instagram with @sweetandspicymonkey, so I can see your creations. Happy Drinking!
